Aldo Goes Glam

Today I had the pleasure of hosting an event at Aldo Shoes in Pentagon City to celebrate the re-opening and renovation of their store.  The party had cupcakes, giveaways, discounts, a dj, a little bit of dancing, a lot of fun and of course some  serious shopping.  I am thrilled to support such an incredible brand that always has innovative styles and fashion forward designs that are incredibly affordable.  I spent most of the night with two different shoes on my feet, because I literally fell in love with everything I tried on!  The biggest shoe trends this spring/summer are sky high heels (as always), a chunky heel (which is a personal fav of mine), ankle straps, neon and color blocking.  Basically, get ready for your feet to have all the fun this summer!

Thank you so much to everyone that came out this evening!  It was such a wonderful event made infinitely more special by the amazing guests!

Holiday Gift Guide

Day Nine of Garden of Glam’s Holiday Gift Guide: Emily (Buyer for Ralph Lauren)

Emily is part of the buying team at Ralph Lauren and was previously an assistant buyer for Anthropologie.  Emily’s style is flawless and eclectic, mixing femininity and edge.  She also has the most fabulous accessories EVER, trust me, as her former roommate I am very familiar with her jewelry box and bags (man oh man those were the days).  Emily is the definition of glam, oozes creativity and is a style genius.

As a reminder, I have asked each contributor to share what’s on their wish list and give list this holiday season with the hope of making your holiday shopping a little easier.

These pumps are so fab and perfect for all occasions!  I love all things leopard and these shoes are no exception.  The chunky heel is also practical and stylish.  A wonderful gift for any fashionista in your life!

ginette_ny Gold Strip Stud Earrings.  These are so fun–delicate enough to wear everyday, but with a bit of an edge.

These studs are incredible!  So subtle yet fabulous and perfect for everyday wear!  Totally obsessed….this has also been added to my wish list.  These would be a great gift for a sister, girlfriend, fiancé or daughter.

Dry Bar Gift Certificates.  For the many wedding events my friends will have to attend this year.

Literally obsessed with this gift idea!  I have SO many weddings in 2013 and having perfectly coiffed hair for each event is crucial!  This is perfect for any lady in your life and if you are a soon to be bride this would be a super cute holiday gift for your bridesmaids.  Also, special shout out and congrats to Emily, who got engaged on Thanksgiving and is one of the weddings I am beyond excited for in 2013!

Mr. Boddington’s Penguin Classics.  Books are such a personal, thoughtful gift.  You could pick one title or buy the whole set (which look so chic on the shelf).

What a kind and wonderful gift.  I also love the specialized cover! This is a gender neutral gift and perfect for any literary loved ones.
