Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week (pt 1)

In case you missed my obsessive instagrams and tweets, I attended the first two days of New York Fashion Week and it was one of the most incredible experiences EVER!  I saw some beautiful, life changing fashion shows & presentations and was endlessly inspired by the unparalleled street style that can only be witnessed at Fashion Week.  Stay tuned all week for a rundown of my fashion week experience with runway pics from Tadashi Shoji, Rebecca Minkoff and Honor, exclusive looks from the Novis and Tome presentations, as well as party pics and some phenomenal celebrity sightings!  To start off my week of coverage check out what I wore to Day Two of Fashion Week.

Romper

Romping Around

One of my absolute staples for every season and every occasion is the romper.  The romper, also known as the jumpsuit is just perfection and shockingly versatile!  While I will admit going to the bathroom in a romper can be challenging it is not enough of a deterrent to turn me away from this show stopping piece.  As with most things I post about, fit is crucial!  Rompers ARE for everyone, but make sure to find the silhouette that flatters your body, paying close attention to where it sinches, the leg width, and the cut of the bust line.

This is the last photo shoot from my trip to Hawaii and holy moly do I miss it! I mean, how beautiful is this sunset!

White Hot Shopping List

This summer is white hot, which means you can look hot while staying cool!  It is that time of year when you go outside and it is so hot that it feels like your skin might actually melt off and the only thing you can talk to anyone about is how hot it is outside.  Hence a post dedicated to the heat and a summer trend that might just help keep you cool.  White is in for summer and I am trying a new thing on Garden of Glam today and featuring a shopping section of some fabulous lust worthy pieces! White on White

White Hot

This summer is white hot!  White is everywhere and is the perfect (non) color to combat the intense summer sun!  I am a firm disbeliever in the no white before Memorial Day “rule” and encourage everyone to rock white all year round, especially in this intense heat!  An all white ensemble is bold, sophisticated and perfect!  White on white is crisp, clean and instantly makes you look more tan (something I always need help with).  I encourage everyone to embrace this summer trend and make it your own, the possibilities are endless!

Head Scarf

Summer Head Scarf

I am slightly obsessed with scarves!  It is actually kind of shocking that this is my first post dedicated to them.  I live in scarves in the Fall, Winter and Spring but have had a hard time incorporating them into my ensembles in the stifling summer heat until now.  The easy and perfect for summer solution: the head scarf!  Why I have not embraced the head scarf sooner I do not know.  There are so many ways to rock a head scarf allowing you to elevate your look to a whole new level.  The gorgeous scarf featured in today’s post that inspired me to experiment and ultimately embrace the head scarf was a gift from none other than Tadashi Shoji.  Not only was my interview with him life changing, this gift was as well.  The head scarf adds vibrance to any outfit making it the perfect finishing touch!  As I plan to incorporate this into as many looks as possible, I highly recommend you experiment and find the wrap that suits you best!

Stripes are everything this season, making them a sartorial summer staple.  Stripes are so wonderful because they are so easy to make your own and almost act as a neutral.  Whether you choose to go with the preppy nautical stripes, punky 90s stripes, or the chic Parisian stripes you simply can’t go wrong.
